Coming into force: 14th February 1992

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and now vested in him[^f00002], and of all other enabling powers:—

The length of trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to bea trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Derbyshire and the County Council of Leicestershire that the new trunk roads are open for through traffic.

This Order shall come into force on 14th February 1992 and may be cited as the A564 Trunk Road (Stoke—Derby Route) (Derby Southern Bypass) (Detrunking) (No. 1) Order 1992.

THE SCHEDULE — LENGTH OF ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD

The length of road ceasing to be a trunk road is that length of the A6 Trunk Road between Lockington, in the Parishes of Castle Donington and Lockington—Hemington, in the County of Leicestershire, and Alvaston in the City of Derby, passing through the Parishes of Shardlow and Great Wilne, Aston-on-Trent and Elvaston in the County of Derbyshire. It starts at a point on the western side of the roundabout at its junction with the B6540 (Tamworth Road) near Lockington and terminates on the eastern side of the roundabout at its junction with the A5111 Trunk Road (Harvey Road) at Alvaston, a distance of 8.17 kilometres.
