Made: 15th July 1992

Coming into force: 14th August 1992

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Scheme in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16 and 17 of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and now vested in him[^f00002], and of all other enabling powers:—

The Secretary of State is authorised to provide along the route described in the Schedule to this Scheme, special roads for the use of traffic of Classes I and II of the classes of traffic set out in Schedule 4 to the Highways Act 1980.

The lengths of the special roads are indicated by heavy black lines on the deposited plan.

The special roads shall become trunk roads on the date when this Scheme comes into force.

This Scheme shall come into force on 14th August 1992, and may be cited as the A168 Trunk Road (Dishforth Interchange) Scheme 1992.

THE SCHEDULE

The route starts on the A168 trunk road from a point 100 metres east of its junction with the Unclassified County Road (SK 13R) (marked “A” on the deposited plan) then proceeds south-westwards for a distance of 890 metres (to a point marked “B” on the deposited plan) where the route bifurcates. One bifurcation proceeds south south-westwards for 390 metres and then southwards to connect with the southbound carriageway of the A1 trunk road (at a point marked “C” on the deposited plan). The other bifurcation proceeds south-westwards for a distance of 1,000 metres to connect with the northbound carriageway of the A1 trunk road (at a point marked “D” on the deposited plan).
