The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations 1992

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 89(3), 105, 108(1)[^f00001] and 192(1)[^f00002] and (3) of the Road Traffic Act 1988[^f00003], and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 195(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:

These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 1st January 1993.

- (1) The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations 1987[^f00004] shall be amended in accordance with the following provision of this regulation.
- (2) In Schedule 3 (Categories of motor vehicles for driving test purposes), in column (2) (Class of Vehicle included in the Category), in the entry describing the class of vehicle included in category C1 plus E, after the words “with a maximum authorised mass exceeding 750 kg” there shall be inserted “where the maximum authorised mass of the combination does not exceed 8.25 tonnes”.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
hese Regulations amend Schedule 3 to the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations 1987 by restricting the classes of vehicle included in category C1 plus E to vehicle and trailer combinations with a maximum authorised mass of no more than 8.25 tonnes: see regulation 2(2) of these Regulations. Formerly there was no such weight restriction.
