Made: 5th March 1992

Laid before Parliament: 9th March 1992

Coming into force: 1st May 1992

Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3(5) of the said Act, hereby makes the following Order:–

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Employment Code of Practice (Picketing)Order 1992 and comes into force on 1st May 1992.

Appointed day for revised Code of Practice

The day appointed for the coming into operation of the revised Code of Practice on picketing issued by the Secretary of State pursuant to section 3(4) and (6) of the Employment Act 1980 is 1st May 1992.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order appoints 1st May 1992 as the day upon which the revised Code of Practice on picketing, which is being issued by the Secretary of State under section 3 of the Employment Act 1980, comes into operation. The revised Code replaces the whole of the Code of Practice on picketing issued by the Secretary of State under the same section in 1980.
