The Education Reform (1989 Order) (Commencement No. 6) Order (Northern Ireland) 1992

Made: 30th November 1992

The Department of Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 1(3) and (4) of the Education Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 1989 and of every other power enabling it on that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation

This Order may be cited as the Education Reform (1989 Order) (Commencement No. 6) Order (Northern Ireland) 1992.

Interpretation

In this Order—

• “the 1987 Order” means the Education (Northern Ireland) Order 1987 ;

• “the 1989 Order” means the Education Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 1989.

Commencement

The following provisions of the 1989 Order shall come into operation on 30th November 1992—

• (a) Article 9, but shall not apply to a course of study being followed in the school year ending on 31st July 1993;

• (b) Article 11(1)(d);

• (c) Article 167 and Schedule 10 in so far as they relate to Article 13 of the 1987 Order.

Article 56 of the 1989 Order shall come into operation on 1st April 1993.
