Made: 2nd March 1992

Coming into force: 27th March 1992

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Scheme in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16, 17 and 19 of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and now vested in him[^f00002], and of all other enabling powers:–

For the purpose of connecting the Motorway with other highways, so as to effect junctions at the places stated in the Schedule hereto, the Secretary of State is authorised to provide along the routes described in that schedule special roads for the use of traffic of Classes I and II of the classes of traffic set out in Schedule 4 to the Highways Act 1980.

The centre line of each of the special roads is indicated by a heavy black line on the plan.

The special roads shall become trunk roads on the date on which this Scheme comes into force.

In this Scheme:

This Scheme shall come into force on 27th March 1992, and may be cited as the M1 London-Yorkshire Motorway (Widening Junction 9 to 10 Northbound) Connecting Roads Scheme 1992.

SCHEDULE — ROUTE OF THE SPECIAL ROADS

JUNCTION OF THE MOTORWAY WITH THE A5(T) WATLING STREET AT FRIARS WASH IN THE COUNTY OF HERTFORDSHIRE

Three routes to connect the northbound and southbound carriageways of the M1 Motorway with the A5(T) Watling Street at Friars Wash (the special roads along these routes being respectively given the references letters A, B and C on the deposited plan).
