Made: 24th February 1992

Coming into force: 27th March 1992

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and now vested in him(b), and of all other enabling powers:

The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Kent that the new trunk roads are open for through traffic.

This Order shall come into force on 27th March 1992 and may be cited as the A249 Iwade Bypass (Detrunking) Order 1992.

THE SCHEDULE — LENGTH OF THE TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD

The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is at Bobbing and Kingsferry near Sittingbourne in the Borough of Swale, in the County of Kent, between a point approximately 820 metres north east of its junction with Key Street and a point approximately 150 metres west of Swale Halt railway station (a distance of about 5.4 kilometres).
