The County Council of Avon (Avon Valley Bridge) Scheme 1989 Confirmation Instrument 1992

Made: 26th February 1992

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Instrument in exercise of powers conferred by section 106(3) of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and now vested in him[^f00002], and of all other enabling powers:—

The County Council of Avon (Avon Valley Bridge) Scheme 1989 is hereby confirmed with modifications.

The said Scheme as confirmed (“the Scheme”) is set out in the Schedule hereto. Copies of the Scheme with its accompanying Schedule are deposited at the offices of the Department of Transport, and at the offices of the County Council of Avon, Floor 6, Avon House, The Haymarket, Bristol and at Hanham Library, High Street, Hanham.

The Scheme will become operative on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.

This Instrument may be cited as the County Council of Avon (Avon Valley Bridge) Scheme 1989 Confirmation Instrument 1992.

THE SCHEDULE — THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF AVON (AVON VALLEY BRIDGE) SCHEME 1989

The County Council of Avon (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) make the Scheme in exercise of their powers under Section 106(3) of the Highways Act 1980 and of all other enabling powers:—

1 The Council are authorised, as part of the highway which they are proposing to construct between Marsham Way and the A4 Bath Road (Keynsham Bypass) in the County of Avon, to construct over the navigable waters of the River Avon the bridge specified in the Schedule to this Scheme (to be known as the Avon Valley Bridge) located close to Hanham Mills and spanning Bickley Wood in the District of Kingswood and partly in the City of Bristol on the north side and Fox Covert in the District of Wansdyke on the south side.

2 This Scheme may be cited as the County Council of Avon (Avon Valley Bridge) Scheme 1989.
