Made: 4th May 1993

Coming into force: 1st June 1993

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 41 of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and now vested in him[^f00002], and of all other enabling powers:

The new highway which the Secretary of State proposes to construct along the route described in the Schedule to this Order (the highway along this route being in this Order referred to as “the new trunk road”) shall become a trunk road as from the date when this Order comes into force.

The centre line of the new trunk road is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.

The Secretary of State directs as respects any part of a highway which crosses the route of the new trunk road that—

This Order shall come into force on 1st June 1993 and may be cited as the A27 Trunk Road (Polegate Bypass) Order 1993.

SCHEDULE — ROUTE OF THE NEW TRUNK ROAD

The route of the new trunk road is at Polegate in the County of East Sussex, about 3 kilometres in length, from a point on the A22, 150 metres north of its junction with the Trunk Road then going east south-east (passing to the north and north-east of Polegate) via a roundabout to a point on the Trunk Road 200 metres east of its junction with Dittons Road.
