The Maximum Number of Judges (No. 2) Order 1993

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 12th day of May 1993 Present, The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council
Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by section 4(4) of the Supreme Court Act 1981[^f00001], is pleased, by and with the dvice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows

This Order may be cited as the Maximum Number of Judges (No.2) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 13th May 1993.

Section 4(1)(e) of the Supreme Court Act 1981[^f00002], prescribing the maximum number of puisne judges of the High Court, shall be amended so as further to increase the maximum number of those judges to 98.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Supreme Court Act 1981 by increasing the maximum number of puisne judges of the High Court from 85 to 98.
