Coming into force: 9th June 1993

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12, of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and now vested in him[^f00002], and of all other enabling powers:–

The length of trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Cheshire that the new trunk roads are open for through traffic.

This Order shall come into force on 9th June 1993 and may be cited as the A500 Newcastle-under-Lyme To Nantwich Trunk Road (Basford-Hough-Shavington Bypass) (Detrunking) Order 1993.

THE SCHEDULE

Length of Trunk Road Ceasing to be a Trunk Road. The length of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is that length of the Trunk Road which is situated in the County of Cheshire between the eastern side of the roundabout junction at the south eastern end of the Nantwich Bypass and the south western side of the roundabout junction with the A5020 at Meremoor Moss.
