Made: 8th June 1993

Coming into force: 23rd June 1993

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 41 of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and now vested in him[^f00002], and of all other enabling powers:—

The new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct—

shall become trunk roads as from the date when this Order comes into force.

The centre line of each of the new trunk roads is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.

The Secretary of State directs as respects any part of a highway which crosses the route of a new trunk road that—

until, in either case, a date to be specified in a notice given by the Secretary of State to the highway authority for that highway. The date specified will not be later than the date on which the main new trunk road is opened for the purpose of through traffic.

In this Order—

(2) (i) “the deposited plan” means the plan numbered HA10/2E/328 marked “The A11 Trunk Road (A505 Junction to Four Went Ways Improvement and Slip Roads) Order 1993”, signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;
(ii) “the new trunk roads” means the highways mentioned in article 1 of this Order and “a new trunk road” means one of those highways;
(iii) “the trunk road” means the A11 Trunk Road; and
(iv) “the Side Roads Order” means the A11 Trunk Road (A505 Junction to Four Went Ways Improvement Side Roads) Order 1993.

This Order shall come into force on 23rd June 1993 and may be cited as theA11 Trunk Road (A505 Junction to Four Went Ways Improvement and Slip Roads)Order 1993.

SCHEDULE 1 — ROUTE OF THE MAIN NEW TRUNK ROAD

The route of the main new trunk road is a route which runs between Little Abington and Babraham in the County of Cambridgeshire about 1.83 kilometres in length, starting on the trunk road at a point 355 metres northwest of its junction with the North Road, Great Abington, then going in a northeasterly direction to rejoin the trunk road 440 metres northeast of the centre of Four Went Ways Roundabout.
