The Non-Domestic Rating (Payment of Interest) (Amendment) Regulations 1993

The Secretary of State for the Environment, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respect Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 55(2) and (7) and 143(1) of the Local Government Finance Act 1988[^f00001] and section 4 of the Non-Domestic Rating Act 1993[^f00002], and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Non-Domestic Rating (Payment of Interest) (Amendment) Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 6th July 1993.
Amendment of Regulations

Regulation 3(2A) of the Non-Domestic Rating (Payment of Interest) Regulations 1990[^f00003] is amended by the insertion after the words “in consequence of the Non-Domestic Rating Act 1992” of the words “or, as the case may be, the Non-Domestic Rating Act 1993.”.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Non-Domestic Rating (Payment of Interest) Regulations 1990, which provide for the payment of interest in certain cases where, in consequence of an alteration to a rating list compiled under Part III of the Local Government Finance Act 1988 (non-domestic rating), an amounts fall to be repaid or credited by a billing authority or the Secretary of State.
The effect of the amendment made by these Regulations is that no interest is payable where a repayment or credit is made following the alteration of the central non-domestic rating list in consequence of the Non-Domestic Rating Act 1993.
