The Criminal Justice Act 1993 (Commencement No. 2 Transitional Provisions and Savings) (Scotland) Order 1993
Made: 11th August 1993
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 78(3), (4) and (10) of the Criminal Justice Act 1993([^f00001]) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

- (1) This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice Act 1993 (Commencement No. 2 Transitional Provisions and Savings) (Scotland) Order 1993.
- (2) This Order extends to Scotland only.

- (1) Subject to paragraph (2) of this Article, section 67(1) of the Criminal Justice Act 1993 shall come into force on 16th August 1993.
- (2) Section 67(1) of the Criminal Justice Act 1993 shall not apply in relation to any offence committed before 16th August 1993.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force on 16th August 1993, for Scotland only, section 67(1) of the Criminal Justice Act 1993, which increases the penalty for causing death by dangerous driving or by careless driving. By virtue of Article 2(2) of the Order, the new penalty shall not apply to any offence committed before 16th August 1993.
