Made: 21st September 1993

Laid before Parliament: 27th September 1993

Coming into force: 18th October 1993

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 81A of the Solicitors Act 1974[^f00001] and with the concurrence of the Lord Chief Justice and the Master of the Rolls, hereby makes the following Order:

The following fees (inclusive of value added tax where payable) shall be charged by commissioners for oaths:–

£
For taking an affidavit, declaration or affirmation, for each person making the same 5.00
And in addition, for each exhibit therein referred to and required to be marked or for each schedule required to be marked 2.00

The Commissioner for Oaths (Fees)(No. 2) Order 1988[^f00003] is hereby revoked, save as to any fee due or payable before the coming into force of this Order.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order increases the fees chargeable by commissioners for oaths and practising solicitors under section 81A of the Solicitors Act 1974 for taking affidavits and similar declarations from £3.50 to £5.00 and for marking exhibits from £1 to £2. It replaces the Commissioners for Oaths (Fees)(No. 2) Order 1988.
