Made: 17th November 1993

Coming into force: 14th December 1993

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001], and now vested in him[^f00002], and of all other enabling powers:

The lengths of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be trunk road and shall be classified as classified roads as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Cambridgeshire that the special roads referred to in article 1 of the A604(M) Motorway (Alconbury to A1(M) Section) and Connecting Roads Scheme 1993[^f00003] are open for use as special roads.

This Order shall come into force on 14th December 1993 and may be cited as the A604 Trunk Road (Alconbury to A1 Improvement) (Detrunking) Order 1993.

THE SCHEDULE — LENGTHS OF TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE TRUNK ROAD

The southbound carriageway of the trunk road, from its junction with the A1 Trunk Road (685 metres south of Wheatsheaf Flyover) to a point 840 metres southeast of that junction, a distance of 840 metres.

The slip road from the southbound carriageway of the trunk road to the existing roundabout linking with Rusts Lane and the B1043 Ermine Street, given the reference number 1 on the deposited plan.
