The Exempt Entertainments (Variation of Monetary Limit) Order 1993

In exercise of the power conferred upon me by section 3(3)(a) of the Lotteries and Amusements Act 1976[^f00001], I hereby make the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Exempt Entertainments (Variation of Monetary Limit) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 3rd May 1994.

The sum of £250 is hereby specified as the maximum sum which the promoters of a lottery incidental to an exempt entertainment may appropriate on account of expenses incurred by them in purchasing prizes in the lottery.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order has the effect of increasing from £50 to £250 the sum which the promoters of a lottery incidental to an exempt entertainment are permitted to deduct from the proceeds of the entertainment on account of expenses incurred by them in purchasing prizes in the lottery.
