The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in relation to England, and the Secretary of State for Scotland in relation to Scotland and the Secretary of State for Wales in relation to Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 10(1) and (2) of the Animal Health and Welfare Act 1984[^f00001] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:

Title and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Artificial Breeding of Sheep and Goats Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 1st January 1994.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulation)

These Regulations implement Council Directive 92/65/EEC as regards the production for intra Community trade of the semen, ova and embryos of sheep and goats and providing for the approval of semen collection centres and embryo collection teams.

Contravention of the Regulations is an offence under section 10(6) of the Animal Health and Welfare Act 1984.

A Compliance Cost Assessment has been prepared and deposited in the library of the House.
