Coming into force for

The Secretary of State, in exercise of his powers under sections 51(2) and 67(4) of the Local Government Act 1972[^f00001] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order which gives effect to proposals submitted to him under sections 47, 48(1) and 51(1) of that Act, more than six weeks before the making of this Order, by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England:

In this Order—

Transfers between Warwickshire (North Warwickshire) and West Midlands (Birmingham)

shall cease to form part of any parish, and shall be transferred from Warwickshire, and from North Warwickshire to West Midlands, to Birmingham, to the Sutton New Hall ward, and to the Sutton Coldfield petty sessional division and the Birmingham coroner’s district.

Transfers from West Midlands (Birmingham) to Staffordshire (Lichfield)

Each unparished area which is marked as shown on the following Table on the map indicated in column 2 shall be transferred from West Midlands, from Birmingham, and from the Sutton Four Oaks ward to Staffordshire, to Lichfield, to the parish, ward, electoral division, and petty sessional division named in column 3, and to the Staffordshire South coroner’s district.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order makes minor changes in the boundary of the metropolitan county of West Midlands (city of Birmingham) with—

The map and table forming part of this Note are a general guide onlyto the areas affected. The table gives in approximate terms the hectarage and population affected by the transfers. The maps described in article 2 should be inspected for full details of the transfers.

Any person may inspect the maps at any reasonable time at the offices of each city or district whose area is affected, and additionally at the offices of the Secretary of State for the Environment located in 2 Marsham Street, London SW1P3EB. The Local Government Area Changes Regulations 1976 contain general provisions regarding the effect of orders such as this one.

BETWEEN WARWICKSHIRE (NORTH WARWICKSHIRE) AND WEST MIDLANDS (BIRMINGHAM) Article 3 Transferred to Birmingham— Area(total): 90 hectares Population(total): Nil Transferred from Birmingham— Area: 1 hectare Population: Nil Transfer to Birmingham of part of sewage works near Curdworth, lying between Kingsbury Road and the River Tame. Realignments to more defined boundary near Water Orton West Junction/Water Orton Bridge/Birmingham Road.
FROM WEST MIDLANDS (BIRMINGHAM) TO STAFFORDSHIRE (LICHFIELD) Article 4 Area: 5 hectares Population: 8 Minor realignment at Watford Gap, in the vicinity of the A4026 road and Biddles Farm. Realignment near Milestone Plantation at Turf Pits Lane/A38 road.
