The Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy Districts (Mossmorran) Boundaries Amendment Order 1993
Made: 8th March 1993
Laid before Parliament: 11th March 1993
Coming into force: 1st April 1993
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 17(2) of the said Act, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order to give effect to the proposals of the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland as submitted to him:
Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy Districts (Mossmorran) Boundaries Amendment Order 1993, and shall come into force on 1st April 1993.
Interpretation

In this Order:—
- “the 1977 Regulations” means the Local Government Area Changes (Scotland) Regulations 1977[^f00002]; and
- “boundary map” means the map prepared by The Scottish Office marked “The Dunferm line and Kirkcaldy Districts (Mossmorran) Boundaries Amendment Order 1993” and deposited in accordance with regulation 3 of the 1977 Regulations;
and, in the Schedule to this Order, any reference to a district boundary is a reference to such a boundary as it exists immediately before the commencement of this Order.
Application of the 1977 Regulations

Save insofar as they can have no application in relation to the area changes effected by this Order, the provisions of the 1977 Regulations shall apply in relation thereto for the purposes of, or in consequence of, this Order.
Area changes

- (1) That part of Dunfermline District in Fife Region, being the Area A described in Part I of the Schedule to this Order and shown delineated, hatched and marked area “A” on the boundary map, shall be transferred to Kirkcaldy District in Fife Region.
- (2) That part of Kirkcaldy District in Fife Region, being the Area B described in Part II of the Schedule to this Order and shown delineated, hatched and marked area “B” on the boundary map, shall be transferred to Dunfermline District in Fife Region.
Consequential changes in electoral arrangements

- (1) Area A described in Part I of the Schedule to this Order (being the Area A transferred by article 4(1) of this Order)—
- (a) shall cease to form part of electoral division 33 (Lochgelly) of Fife Region[^f00003] and ward 10 (Lochgelly South) of Dunfermline District[^f00004]; and
- (b) shall form part of electoral division 2 (Auchtertool/Linktown/Invertiel) of Fife Region and ward 4 (Linktown/Auchtertool) of Kirkcaldy District.
- (2) Area B described in Part II of the Schedule to this Order (being the Area B transferred by article 4(2) of this Order)—
- (a) shall cease to form part of electoral division 2 (Auchtertool/Linktown/Invertiel) of Fife Region and ward 4 (Linktown/Auchtertool) of Kirkcaldy District[^f00005]; and
- (b) shall form part of electoral division 36 (Cowdenbeath/Gray Park) of Fife Region and ward 16 (Cowdenbeath South East) of Dunfermline District.

PART I
Area A
The area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the Dunfermline/Kirkcaldy district boundary on the eastern edge of the southbound carriageway of the Auchtertool to Lochgelly Road (Grid Reference NT 20919211) where a farm track meets the said road; then generally westwards along the southern edge of the said farm track to a point (Grid Reference NT 19889157) on the said boundary; then southwards along the fence line forming the district boundary to a point (Grid Reference NT 20029125); then generally southeastwards and northeastwards along the said boundary to a point Grid Reference NT 21249151; then northwestwards to the point of commencement. Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order transfers on 1st April 1993 2 areas amounting to approximately 238.5 hectares between Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy Districts in Fife Region and makes consequential changes to electoral arrangements.
The map annexed to and forming part of this note gives a general guide to the areas affected by this Order.
Copies of the detailed boundary map defined in article 2 of this Order may be if inspected at the offices of any of the local authorities referred to in this Order, and may be inspected at or purchased from The Scottish Office Environment Department’s Map Library, New St Andrew’s House, Edinburgh EH1 3TG.
