The War Pensions (Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 1993
Made: 11th March 1993
Coming into force: 1st April 1993
The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 7(3) of the Pensions (Navy, Army, Air Force and Mercantile Marine) Act 1939[^f00001] and now vested in him[^f00002], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the War Pensions (Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 1st April 1993.
War Pensions (Naval Auxiliary Personnel) Scheme 1964

In article 2(9) of the War Pensions (Naval Auxiliary Personnel) Scheme 1964[^f00003] (definition of “public funds”), for the words “the Abolition of Domestic Rates etc. (Scotland) Act 1987” there shall be substituted the words “the Local Government Finance Act 1992[^f00004]”.

In article 2(26) of the War Pensions (Mercantile Marine) Scheme 1964[^f00005] (definition of “public funds”), for the words “the Abolition of Domestic Rates etc. (Scotland) Act 1987” there shall be substituted the words “the Local Government Finance Act 1992”.
War Pensions (Coastguards) Scheme 1944

In article 1(10) of the War Pensions (Coastguards) Scheme 1944[^f00006] (definition of “public funds”), for the words “the Abolition of Domestic Rates etc. (Scotland) Act 1987” there shall be substituted the words “the Local Government Finance Act 1992”.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order makes amendments to various war pensions schemes consequential upon the abolition of community charge and the introduction of council tax on 1st April 1993.
