Made: 31st March 1993

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 84 of the Road Traffic Act 1991([^f00001]) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

The provisions of the Act which are specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this Order shall, insofar as they are not then in force, come into force on 1st April 1993, but, when a particular purpose is specified in column 2 of that Schedule in relation to any such provision, that provision shall come into force on that day only for that purpose.

SCHEDULE — THE PROVISIONS OF THE ACT BROUGHT INTO FORCE ON 1ST APRIL 1993

Section 48. Only for the purpose of bringing into force paragraph 85 of Schedule 4.
In Sechedule 4, paragraph 85[^f00003]). Only for the purposes of summary criminal proceedings in Scotland which are commenced on or after 1st April 1993.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force on 1st April 1993 provisions of the Road Traffic Act 1991 which relate to the proof of the identity of the driver of a vehicle in certain criminal proceedings in Scotland. The new provisions will apply only to summary criminal proceedings brought on or after 1st April 1993.
