The Vale of Glamorgan (Barry and Dinas Powys Communities) Order 1994

Coming into force
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State for Wales, in exercise of his powers under section 58(2) of that Act and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement

- (1) This Order may be cited as the Vale of Glamorgan (Barry and Dinas Powys Communities) Order 1994.
- (2) This Order shall come into force on 1st March 1994 for any purpose set out in regulation 4(1) (Coming into operation of order) of the Local Government Area Changes Regulations 1976[^f00002].
- (3) For all other purposes this Order shall come into force on 1st April 1994.
Changes in area

The part of the community of Dinas Powys which is shown hatched in black on the boundary map prepared by the Welsh Office, marked “Map of the Vale of Glamorgan (Barry and Dinas Powys Communities) Order 1994” shall–
- (a) be transferred to the community of Barry;
- (b) form part of the Cadoc ward of that community;
- (c) form part of the Cadoc ward of the borough of Vale of Glamorgan; and
- (d) form part of the Cadoc electoral division of the county of South Glamorgan.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order alters the boundary between the communities of Dinas Powys and Barry in the Borough of Vale of Glamorgan. Consequential changes to local government electoral areas are made.
The map forming part of this note gives a general indication of the area affected by the Order.
Prints of the boundary map referred to in article 2 of the Order are deposited and may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of the Borough Council of Vale of Glamorgan, Holton Road, Barry and at the office of the Secretary of State for Wales at Cathays Park, Cardiff.
The area transferred has approximately an area of 94 hectares and a population of about 220.
The Local Government Area Changes Regulations 1976 referred to in article 1 of the Order contain further provisions about the effect and implementation of orders such as this one.
