The Cleveland Tertiary College (Incorporation) Order 1994
Made: 26th May 1994
Laid before Parliament: 27th May 1994
Coming into force: 29th June 1994
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 16(1) and 17 of the Act the Secretary of State for Education hereby makes the following Order:

- (1) This Order may be cited as the Cleveland Tertiary College (Incorporation) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 29th June 1994 (“the Commencement Date”).

On the Commencement date there shall be established a body corporate called “Cleveland Tertiary College” for the purpose of establishing and conducting from the operative date a new educational institution of that name (to be formed by the merger of Cleveland College of Further Education and Sir William Turner’s Sixth Form College, Redcar).

The “operative date” in relation to the further education corporation established by this Order shall be 1st August 1994, and the corporation shall conduct Cleveland Tertiary College from that date.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order establishes a further education corporation under section 16(1) of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 for the purpose of establishing and conducting Cleveland Tertiary College and appoints 1st August 1994 as the “operative date” for the purposes of Part I of that Act.
