Coming into force: 1st October 1994

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 17(2) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[^f00001], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 134(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

These Regulations may be cited as the M4 Motorway (Heathrow Airport Spur) (Speed Limit) Regulations 1994 and shall come into force on 1st October 1994.

In these Regulations—

No person shall drive a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour on any of the lengths of motorway specified in the Schedule to these Regulations.

SCHEDULE

1

The Heathrow Airport Spur.

The eastbound exit ramp from a point 150 metres west of its junction with the Junction 4 Roundabout eastwards to that junction.

The westbound exit ramp from a point 150 metres east of its junction with the Junction 4 Roundabout westwards to that junction.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations impose a speed limit of 50 miles per hour on the length of the M4 Motorway known as the Heathrow Airport Spur (a distance of approximately 1675 metres) and on two short adjoining slip roads.
