Made: 19th October 1994

The Secretary of State for Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 63(5) and 66(3) of the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994[^f00001], hereby makes the following Order:—

SCHEDULE — PROVISIONS OF THE 1994 ACT COMING INTO FORCE ON 24th OCTOBER 1994

Provision of the 1994 Act Subject matter of provision
Section 1(4) Definitions — introductory.
Section 1(5) Definition of “local authority”.
Section 1(6) Definition of “local government area”.
Section 1(8) Definition of “principal area”.
Paragraphs 4 and 5 of Schedule 2 and section 1(3) so far as it relates thereto The Local Government Boundary Commission for Wales and related matters.
Paragraphs 1, 7, 8(5), 9(4)(b), 11(2), 12(b), 18, 19 and 57 of Schedule 15 and section 66(5) so far as it relates thereto As above.
In Schedule 18, the repeals to sections 55(5)(a), 59(2) and 72(2) of the 1972 Act and section 66(8) so far as it relates thereto Consequential repeals.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

The Order brings into force on 24th October 1994 those provisions of the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994 specified in the Schedule to the Order.
