The Secretary of State concerned with health in England, the Secretaries of State respectively concerned with health and with agriculture in Scotland and in Wales, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Department of Health and Social Services for Northern Ireland and the Department of Agriculture for Northern Ireland, acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 57(1), (2) and (2A) and 129(4) of the Medicines Act 1968[^f00001] and now vested in them[^f00002], and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, after consulting such organisations as appear to them to be representative of interests likely to be substantially affected by the following Order in accordance with section 129(6) of that Act, and with the consent of the Treasury in accordance with section 57(2A) of that Act, hereby make the following Order:

Title and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Medicines (Veterinary Drugs) (Pharmacy and Merchants' List) (Amendment No. 2) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 3rd January 1995.

Amendment

The Medicines (Veterinary Drugs) (Pharmacy and Merchants' List) Order 1992[^f00003] shall be amended in accordance with the following articles.

In article 16 (Fees) after the words “the fee specified in” there shall be inserted the words “the third column of ”.

For Schedules 1 to 5 there shall be substituted the Schedules numbered 1 to 5 set out in the Schedule to this Order.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order further amends the Medicines (Veterinary Drugs) (Pharmacy and Merchants' List) Order 1992 (the “principal Order") so as to alter the fees payable on registration, retention of registration and restoration of registration of agricultural merchants and saddlers under that Order. The old and new fees are set out in the new Schedule 5 in the Schedule to this Order.”

Amendments are also made to Schedules 1 to 4 to the principal Order to take account of product licences granted, withdrawn or expired since the Order was last amended (these Schedules are reprinted in their entirety for ease of reference). A drafting amendment to article 16 of the principal Order is also made.

A Compliance Cost Assessment has been prepared and a copy has been placed in the library of each House of Parliament.
