Coming into force: 1st November 1996

Now, therefore, in pursuance of paragraph 3(3) of Schedule 1 to the European Parliamentary Elections Act 1978[^f00002] the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the European Parliamentary Elections (Day of By-election) (Merseyside West Constituency) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 1st November 1996.

The by-election to fill the vacancy in the European Parliamentary constituency of Merseyside West shall be held on 12th December 1996.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order appoints 12th December 1996 as the day on which the by-election to fill the vacancy in the European Parliamentary constituency of Merseyside West shall be held.
