(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order extends the Professions Supplementary to Medicine Act 1960 to the profession of prosthetist and orthotist. The Order has the effect, in consequence of that extension, of establishing the Prosthetists and Orthotists Board. It makes amendments to that Act in relation to the composition of the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine, and makes specific provision in respect of the composition of the Prosthetists and Orthotists Board.

Footnotes

[^f00001]: 1960 c. 66. The Act was extended to the profession of orthoptists by S.I. 1966/990, and ceased to extend to the profession of remedial gymnasts by virtue of S.I. 1986/630. The First Schedule to the Act has effect as if amended by both instruments.
