The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 333, 333A and 333B of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988, section 151 of the Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992 and sections 75 and 76(3) of the Finance Act 1998, hereby make the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Individual Savings Account Regulations 1998 and shall come into force for the purposes of—

on 1st October 1998, and for all other purposes on 6th April 1999.

Interpretation

shall be construed in accordance with regulation 4(1) and, where appropriate, regulation 2B(b) and shall include a personal equity plan treated on and from the 6th April 2008 as a stocks and shares account;
