Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Public Airport Companies (Capital Finance) Order 1996. The principal amendments change the definition of public airport company so that it ceases to refer to all such companies as defined in section 16(1) of the Airports Act 1986 (1986 c. 31) but is confined to those companies listed in new Schedule 1 to the Order. Of those airports, Gloucestershire, Humberside and Teesside are also named in Schedule 2 for the purpose of identifying the constituent council which is to be treated as the controlling authority for the purposes of the principal Order.
