The European Communities (Designation) Order 1992[^f00007] The Secretary of State and any Northern Ireland department Measures relating to the design and construction of, and to the placing on the market and putting into service of, machinery.
The European Communities (Designation) (No.3) Order 1993[^f00008] The Secretary of State Measures relating to the design and construction of, and to the placing on the market and putting into service of, safety components[^f00009] for machinery.

Any functions exercisable by the National Assembly for Wales by reason of previous designations were transferred to the Welsh Ministers on the appointment of the First Minister, by virtue of sections 161(5) and 162 of, and paragraph 30(1) and 30(2)(b) of Schedule 11 to, that Act.
