The Secretary of State for Education and Skills, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 137(4) and (5) and 181(2)(a) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 , makes the following Regulations:

Citation, commencement and interpretation

Publication of a report following an inspection

A local authority in England which has received a copy of a report under section 137 of the Act must, within 30 working days of receiving the report, publish it by—

Publication of a written statement of proposed action

A local authority in England which has received a copy of a report under section 137 of the Act must, within 70 working days of receiving that report, or as soon as is reasonably practicable, publish a written statement of action which they propose to take in the light of the report (a “written statement”) by—
