EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Regulations amend the Childcare (Inspections) Regulations 2008 (“the principal Regulations”) to alter the prescribed interval for certain childcare inspections. The effect of the amendment is to require Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills to inspect all early years provision to which regulation 3 of the principal Regulations applies once before 1st August 2012. The amendment will ensure that early years provision which was inspected on or after 1st September 2008 and before 1st August 2009 is not required to be inspected again before 1st August 2012.
