Made: 19th November 2009

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 153(5)(a), (7) and (8)(b) of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008[^f00001], makes the following Order:

Citation, interpretation and extent

The date appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the 2008 Act is 30 November 2009—

The date appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the 2008 Act insofar as they relate to English NHS premises and are not already in force, is 30 November 2009—

Transitory provision

Until section 6 of the 2008 Act comes fully into force, paragraph (b) of the definition of “relevant person” in section 47(11) of the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006e has effect as if it read “(b) an attendance centre order under section 60 of the Powers of Criminal Courts (Sentencing) Act 2000 (c. 6) or a youth rehabilitation order under Part 1 of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008 (c.4)”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into force certain provisions of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008 (c. 4) set out in articles 2 and 3 on 30 November 2009, subject to the transitory provision set out in article 4.
