Made: 26th July 2010

The Parliamentary Secretary (Minister for Political and Constitutional Reform) makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 52(2) and (4) of the Constitutional Reform and Governance Act 2010[^f00001]:

Citation

This Order may be cited as the Constitutional Reform and Governance Act 2010 (Commencement No. 2 and Transitional Provisions) Order 2010.

Interpretation

In this Order—

Commencement

The following provisions of the 2010 Act come into force on 27th July 2010—

Sections 28, 33 and 34 of and Schedule 4 to the 2010 Act: transitional provision

The requirement to consult the Committee on Standards and Privileges by virtue of—

applies only if the Committee on Standards and Privileges has been constituted by the relevant time.

For the purposes of article 4, the relevant time is the time at which the IPSA would have had to consult the Committee on Standards and Privileges—

had the Committee on Standards and Privileges been constituted at that time.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into force provisions of the Constitutional Reform and Governance Act 2010 which make amendments to provisions of the Parliamentary Standards Act 2009 about the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (“the IPSA”) and its functions. All the provisions brought into force by this Order come into force on 27th July 2010.

The commenced provisions—

A regulatory impact assessment has not been prepared for this Order as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
