A draft of this Order was laid before Parliament and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament in accordance with section 49(5) of that Act.

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Amendment to Schedule 6 to the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007 Order 2010 and comes into force on 14th February 2010.

Addition to the list of tribunals in Schedule 6

In Part 4 of Schedule 6 to the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007 (tribunals for the purposes of section 30), insert the following entry at the appropriate place—

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Part 4 of Schedule 6 to the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007 lists the Tribunals that are Tribunals for the purposes of section 30 of the 2007 Act. Section 30 of the 2007 Act gives the Lord Chancellor the power to, by Order, transfer the functions of those Tribunals to the First-tier Tribunal and the Upper Tribunal. Section 37(1)(a) of the 2007 Act allows the Lord Chancellor to, by Order, add a Tribunal to that list. This Order adds the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal to the list of Tribunals in Part 4.
