The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Scheme in exercise of powers conferred by section 16 of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001]:

This Scheme may be cited as the M5 Motorway (Junction 30 Sandy Gate Section) Connecting Road Scheme 2010 and shall come into force on 3rd November 2010.

2

In this Scheme:

3

The 1972 Scheme was made by the Secretary of State and describes special roads in the County of Devon. These special roads include a route which connects the northbound carriageway of the M5 motorway with a roundabout at Junction 30 (Sandy Gate) and is given the reference letter G on the deposited plan. The Secretary of State has decided to vary the scheme made under the 1972 Scheme in accordance with this Scheme.

4

Notwithstanding the 1972 Scheme, a section of northbound on-slip road starting at a point 5 metres (5.5 yards) north of the interface with the Sandy Gate Roundabout, at Junction 30 of the M5 motorway, and ending after 35 metres (38.3 yards) running from east to west (all of which is indicated by the reference letter A on the plan) shall cease to be special road but will remain trunk road[^f00003].

Signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Scheme)

EXPLANATORY NOTE
