The Secretary of State in relation to England and the Welsh Ministers in relation to Wales make this Order under powers conferred by sections 25(1A)(c) and 40B(1) of the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act 1975[^f00001].

The instruments specified in the right hand column of the table in the Schedule are licensable means of fishing for the species of fish specified in the left hand column of that table.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order specifies additional means of fishing for the purposes of section 25(1A)(c) of the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act 1975.

Fishing by such means, when used for fishing for salmon or migratory trout, requires a licence issued by the Environment Agency under section 25(1) of that Act.

An impact assessment has been prepared and placed in the libraries of both Houses of Parliament. It is available on the Defra website at www.defra.gov.uk and from Welsh Assembly Government, Cathays Park Cardiff CF10 3NQ.
