The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 116(1) of the Policing and Crime Act 2009[^f00001].
Citation and interpretation

- (1) This Order may be cited as the Policing and Crime Act 2009 (Commencement No. 7) Order 2010.
- (2) In this Order “the Act” means the Policing and Crime Act 2009.
Provisions coming into force on 31st January 2011

The day appointed for the coming into force of Part 4 of the Act (injunctions: gang-related violence) and Schedule 5 to the Act (injunctions: powers to remand) is 31st January 2011.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order commences Part 4 of, and Schedule 5 to, the Policing and Crime Act 2009 (“the Act”) on 31st January 2011. This means that all the provisions relating to injunctions to prevent gang-related violence in the Act will come into force on that day.
An Order made under the Crime and Security Act 2010 will commence amendments made to section 42 of, and Schedule 5 to, the Act. These amendments will also come into force on 31st January 2011.
