The Animal Welfare (Codes of Practice) (Appointed Day) (England) Order 2010
Made: 18th February 2010
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred by section 15(5) of the Animal Welfare Act 2006[^f00001], makes the following Order.
Citation and application

This Order—
- (a) may be cited as the Animal Welfare (Codes of Practice) (Appointed Day) (England) Order 2010; and
- (b) applies in England.
Appointed Day
2
The appointed day for the following codes of practice coming into force is 6th April 2010—
- (a) Code of Practice for the Welfare of Privately Kept Non-Human Primates[^f00002];
- (b) Code of Practice for the Welfare of Cats[^f00003];
- (c) Code of Practice for the Welfare of Dogs[^f00004];
- (d) Code of Practice for the Welfare of Horses, Ponies, Donkeys and their Hybrids[^f00005].

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order sets 6th April 2010 as the appointed day when the codes of practice specified in article 2 come into force.
