Made: 25th March 2010

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 116(1) of the Policing and Crime Act 2009[^f00001].

Citation and interpretation

Provisions coming into force on 19th April 2010

The day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act is 19th April 2010:

Provision coming into force on 8th May 2010

The day appointed for the coming into force of section 112(1) of the Act in so far as it relates to paragraph 23 of Schedule 7 (amendments to the Licensing Act 2003[^f00002]) to the Act and in relation to Wales only is 8th May 2010.

Provision coming into force on 1st September 2010

The day appointed for the coming into force of section 2 of the Act (Police Senior Appointments Panel) is 1st September 2010.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This is the fifth Commencement Order made under the Policing and Crime Act 2009 (“the Act”).

Article 2 lists provisions of the Act relating to the appointment of senior police officers which come into force on 19th April 2010.

Article 3 will allow the Welsh Ministers to bring provisions in the Act relating to sexual entertainment venues into force on 8th May 2010.

Article 4 brings section 2 of the Act (police senior appointments panel) into force on 1st September 2010.
