Coming into force: 30th March 2011

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[^f00001] and now vested in him[^f00002]:

This Order may be cited as the A11 Trunk Road (Fiveways to Thetford Improvement) (Detrunking) Order 2011 and shall come into force on 30th March 2011.

In this Order—

The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies Suffolk County Council that the new trunk road is open for traffic.

SCHEDULE — LENGTH OF THE TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD

The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is situated between a point 28 metres west along the trunk road from the centreline of the B1106 junction from Bury St.Edmunds at Elveden in the County of Suffolk and a point 1220 metres east of the junction of the trunk road with the C633 at Elveden Gap in the County of Norfolk and is shown by broad black dashes on the plan numbered HA 10/MP/072, marked “The A11 Trunk Road (Fiveways to Thetford Improvement) (Detrunking) Order 2011” signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at Document Deposit Service, Communities and Local Government, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, StLeonards on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This order re-classifies the section of existing A11 Trunk Road which passes through Elveden village between the B1106 and Elveden Gap. The relevant section will become a County ‘B’ road and the new A11 Trunk Road will bypass the village.
