The Courts Act 2003 (Continuing Provision of Court-houses) (Amendment) Regulations 2011

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by paragraph 16 of Schedule 2 to the Courts Act 2003[^f00001] makes the following Regulations.

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Courts Act 2003 (Continuing Provision of Court-houses) (Amendment) Regulations 2011 and shall come into force on 1st July 2011.

Amendments to the Courts Act 2003 (Continuing Provision of Court-houses) Regulations 2005

• (1) Regulation 2 of the Courts Act 2003 (Continuing Provision of Court-houses) Regulations 2005[^f00002] is amended as follows.

• (2) In the heading, for “local authorities” substitute “Common Council of the City of London”.

• (3) For “court-houses” in each place substitute “court-house”.

• (4) For “relevant councils” in each place substitute “Common Council of the City of London”.

• (5) In paragraph (2) omit sub-paragraph 2(b).

• (6) In paragraph (3) for “those” substitute “the”.

• (7) Omit paragraph (6).

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Courts Act 2003 (Continuing Provision of Court-houses) Regulations 2005 so as to omit the requirement for the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames to provide the Lord Chancellor with the court-house and other accommodation at the Guildhall, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 1EU.
