In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3(1)(b) of the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966[^f00002], their Lordships direct as follows.

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Veterinary Surgeons (Recognition of University Degree) (Nottingham) Order of Council 2011 and comes into force on 1st September 2011.

Recognition of university degree

Anyone on whom the University of Nottingham confers the degree of Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Bachelor of Veterinary Surgery (B.V.M., B.V.S.) is qualified to be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (and shall, on application in the manner and on payment of the fee prescribed by Regulations of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons made under section 11 of the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966[^f00003], be registered in the Register of Veterinary Surgeons and become a member of that College).

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order provides for the recognition of the degree of Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Bachelor of Veterinary Surgery (B.V.M., B.V.S.) conferred by Nottingham University. Such recognition enables the holder of such a degree to be qualified to be registered as a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Membership will occur on registration, after satisfying the relevant requirements of the College as to procedure and payment of a fee.
