EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order amends the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Order 2010, S.I. 2010/1979. The School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document 2010 (“the Document”) which is given legal effect by that Order, is modified in relation to the school year beginning in 2010 to reduce by one the number of days for which a teacher must be available for work in that school year, and to make corresponding modifications in relation to the number of hours during which teachers can be required to perform their duties in that school year. The reason for the changes is the additional bank holiday taking place in April 2011. The modifications to the Document are published alongside the Document on the website of the Department for Education (www.education.gov.uk).
