Coming into force: 23rd November 2011

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980 [^f00001] and now vested in him [^f00002] and [^f00003]:-

This Order may be cited as the A419 Trunk Road (B4040 Swindon Road and Cricklade Roundabout) (Detrunking) Order 2011 and shall come into force on 23rd November 2011.

In this Order—

The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road from the date on which the Order comes into force.

THE SCHEDULE — LENGTH OF THE TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE TRUNK ROAD

The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is a 400 metre (438 yard) length of the B4040 Swindon Road, from a point 7 metres (8 yards) east of the River Key Bridge, to its junction with the access road east of the A419 trunk road and is shown by broad black dashes on the plan marked “The A419 Trunk Road (B4040 Swindon Road and Cricklade Roundabout) (Detrunking) Order 2011” signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at Document Deposit Service, Communities and Local Government, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, StLeonards on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The proposal is to detrunk a 400m length of the B4040 Swindon Road that is not part of the Strategic Road Network.
