The Overseas Territories (Change of Name) (No. 6) Order 2011

Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 66 of the Civil Aviation Act 1949[^f00001], section 8(1) of the Civil Aviation Act 1949 as extended to certain territories by the Civil Aviation Act 1949 (Overseas Territories) Order 1969[^f00002], sections 8, 41, 57, 58, 59 and 61 of the Civil Aviation Act 1949 as extended to certain territories by the Civil Aviation Act 1949 (Overseas Territories) Order 1969, as amended by the Civil Aviation Act 1982 (Overseas Territories) Order 2001[^f00003], section 61 of the Civil Aviation Act 1982[^f00004] as extended to certain territories by the Civil Aviation Act 1982 (Overseas Territories) Order 2001, section 66 of the Civil Aviation Act 1971[^f00005], and section 108 of the Civil Aviation Act 1982, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is ordered, as follows:
Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Overseas Territories (Change of Name) (No. 6) Order 2011 and shall come into force on 14th January 2012.
Amendment of certain instruments

- (1) Schedule 12 to the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order 2007[^f00006] is amended by substituting for the words “St Helena and Dependencies” the words “St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha”.
- (2) Schedule 2 to the Civil Aviation Act 1982 (Overseas Territories) Order 2001[^f00007] is amended by substituting for the words “St Helena and its Dependencies” the words “St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha”.
- (3) Schedule 3 to the Civil Aviation Act 1949 (Overseas Territories) Order 1969[^f00008] is amended by –
- (a) deleting, after the words “Falkland Islands”, the words “(Colony and Dependencies)”;
- (b) inserting in the list of territories, in the appropriate alphabetical position, “South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands”; and
- (c) substituting for the words “St Helena and its Dependencies” the words “St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha”.
- (4) The Schedule to the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) (Environmental Standards) Order 2004[^f00009] is amended by substituting for the words “St Helena” and “St Helena Dependencies (Tristan da Cunha and Ascension Island)” the words “St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order amends certain statutory instruments relating to civil aviation to reflect the current names of the British overseas territories of St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha and South Georgia and the South Sandwich islands.
