The Post Office Limited (Designation) Order 2011

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 6(1)(c) of the Postal Services Act 2011[^f00001]:
Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Post Office Limited (Designation) Order 2011 and shall come into force on 15th December 2011.
Designation of Post Office Limited

Post Office Limited (registered number 02154540) is designated for the purposes of section 6(1) of the Postal Services Act 2011.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order designates Post Office Limited for the purposes of section 6(1) of the Postal Services Act 2011. Section 6(4) of that Act provides that an order appointing a day for the commencement of section 1 (removal of restrictions on ownership of Royal Mail Holdings plc etc) cannot be made unless Post Office Limited has been designated under section 6(1).
An Impact Assessment (“IA”) has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
