The Further Education Teachers’ Qualifications (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2011

Coming into force: 1st April 2011

The Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 136(a) and (c), 145 and 210(7) of the Education Act 2002[^f00001].

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Further Education Teachers’ Qualifications (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2011 and come into force on 1st April 2011.

Amendment of the Further Education Teachers’ Qualifications (England) Regulations 2007

The Further Education Teachers’ Qualifications (England) Regulations 2007[^f00002] are amended as set out in regulation 3.

In regulation 2—

• (a) in paragraph (1), omit the definition of “LLUK”;

• (b) in paragraph (2)(c), for “LLUK” substitute “IfL”.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Further Education Teachers’ Qualifications (England) Regulations 2007 so that the Institute for Learning replaces Lifelong Learning UK, as the body which must be satisfied in relation to evidence to show that a person has the necessary skills or experience to teach, for the purposes of regulation 2(2)(c).

An Impact Assessment has not been prepared for this instrument as it has no wider impact on the costs of business, charities or voluntary bodies. The impact on the public sector is minimal.
